State of Rhode-Island and Providence Plantations. In General Assembly, March session, A.D. 1777. : This Assembly being under great concern that no attempt hath as yet been made against the enemy upon Rhode-Island, which they consider as a great disgrace to New-England in general and to this state in particular, do resolve that it be ... And it is further resolved, that said companies of volunteers be discharged on the twentieth day of March inst. or sooner, if the service on which they are engaged will admit of it.
