Description
Summary:Artisanal designer, Ralph Rucci has quietly reigned as master of American couture for more than twenty-five years. His ready-to-wear line is the ultimate in luxury. Rucci was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from Temple University with a degree in philosophy. His artistic talent and philosophical vision are seamlessly translated into exquisitely crafted clothes. In 1994 Rucci re-launched his label as 'Chado Ralph Rucci,' after the ancient Japanese tea ceremony of exacting steps, tranquility and austerity - similar qualities he seeks to reflect in his work. Rucci was the first American designer since Mainbocher to be invited by the Chambre Syndicale to show as part of the official Paris Autumn / Winter 2002 Haute Couture Collections. Sculptural, weightless, and innovative, Rucci's clothes are museum pieces, but to the reserved designer, they are just another language for a woman's self-expression.
