This collection of four documents includes three community studies and one summary of the culture. Each of the the community studies focus on Telugu village social structure and organization with specific attention to culture change (Dube 1955), power relations based on status, wealth and caste (Hiebert 1971), and the role of ritual in mediating caste relations (Tapper 1987), with fieldwork respectively performed during the early 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
