Three families are followed who have migrated 110 miles in order to lay supplies for the winter. Central character, Buster Kalek and his grandson Trevor, are seen in a dramatic Beluga chase. Elders of the Innuvialluit Eskimo feel that the survival of their way of life lies in the transmission of knowledge about traditional fishing.
