Vladimír Válek

Vladimír Válek (born 2 September 1935 in Nový Jičín) is a Czech conductor.

He was conductor of the Prague Symphony for 10 years, in which he made his first tours of Europe and the United States. [https://www.naxos.com/person/Vladimir_Valek/30909.htm]

He was the Principal Conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic from 2004 until 2007, when he was succeeded by Peter Feranec.

In 2000 he was awarded the Hanno R. Ellenbogen Citizenship Award jointly with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Ken'ichiro Kobayashi and Sir Charles Mackerras given by the Prague Society for International Cooperation and Global Panel Foundation.[2] The Secondary/Financial Recipient was Lukas Vondracek.
